Which Car Survey

http://www.metro.co.uk/news/835817-6-500-kia-picanto-voted-uks-most-reliable-car

Last week (22nd July) respected car magazine Which Car? produced a list of the most reliable/unreliable cars in 2010.

At the top end of the scale was the KIA Picanto, followed closely by the Honda 3. In third place was the Daihatsu Sirion.

The surprising cars found at the end of the scale were the Range Rover, Volkwagen Eos and the BMW 3 series convertible which languished in the top ten worst cars for reliability.

Being that the 3 series- aesthetically is one of my favourite cars (I obviously don't have the money to buy one......yet), I contacted BMW who gave their response to the the survey.

A spokesman said, "We are in talks with Which over the methodology. That said we are aware of some cases of dissatisfied owners of 3 Series Convertibles but these tend to concentrate on people who have damaged roofs due to the stowage of items in areas of where the retractable hard-top roof lowers

That still wouldn't stop being from buying the BMW, would it stop you?

Porsche Vs Congestion Charge

I dont own a porsche (not yet, but soon), but i am glad that the german company announced at the start of the week that they oppose mayor Ken Livingstones plans to increase the congestion charge to £25 for bigger engines. Its about time someone stopped talking about how unfair these costs are and do something about it.

One can only assume that there is a huge conspiracy to wipe out cars, as petol prices continually creep up, rising penalty fares and constant new laws. The congestion charge increase is seriously pushing it. Politicians and people in the government never have to use london transport so they do not understand that it is not an alternative to driving. London transport is late, expensive and most certainly congested, so its no wonder people are sticking to cars. It has been said that Porsche are starting an online petition, one which i would be more than happy to sign.

Golf GTi Price Drop

I was watching 5th gear on monday when i stumbled across a good money deal for hot hatchback lovers. The mark 5 Volkswagen Golf Gti has dropped considerably in price (private trade). When the car was released around 3 years ago, it was priced at around £25,000. Now you can fetch one on autotrader for the more reasonable price of around £13,000 give or take a few grand, nearly half of the asking price a few years ago. For a showroom one at the moment, it would still set you back around £21,000. For those interested in the golf, it was also noted that for a few extra stacks, you could also find one with paddle shift on trader.

White Cars

Is it me or has there been a huge increase in the amount of white cars?

The funny thing is, is that white cars have always been here. But before everybody would stay away from them because they attracted dirt to easily. Lately the colour has grown in popularity, here are a few of my favourite cars in white.

BMW 1 Series Coupe Convertible

With the launch of the 1series coupe immenent, our German friends have given us something else to look forward to. BMW have announced a new line to the already growing 1series family- the coupe convertible.

The soft top roof retracts in 22 seconds, adn the car has been hailed for its boot space. Buyers will enjoy the fully leathered interior with a wide variety of extras, including a screen for sat nav. Staying in the tradition of new generation BMWs consumers can also expect ipod and mp3 compatibility. There is also a climate control option for when the roof is dropped.
